St. Luke’s Cooley Transplant Center’s newly launched Pancreas Transplant Program is led by Jacqueline Lappin, MD.  Dr. Lappin is in the forefront of pancreas transplant putting particular emphasis on using living donor kidneys and deceased donor pancreas simultaneously.  For patients with normal renal function, Dr. Lappin often performs pancreas only transplants.

Pancreas transplantation alone or in combination with kidney transplantation can help a patient attain a better quality of life and an opportunity to delay the consequences of poor glucose control.
